The Hacking Hunger scenario: It is the year 2030 and many global changes have occurred. The majority of the world’s most challenging problems are decided by (AI) Artificial Intelligence. But on this occasion, a solar incident disrupts this system causing deep concern as to the trustworthiness of the AI situation and proposed solution. Up until now, the method of decision-making was not questioned. This group has been charged by a global leadership council to make a critical decision involving food and water insecurity. What should they do? Continue to trust the system or go back to putting more trust in a human-centered process for managing the world’s resources? Meanwhile, a decision must be made in the near term and there is no recourse other than to act quickly. Or, to potentially suffer more extreme consequences.
